Being Me in the World

Being Me in the World

This two-day personal and professional development workshop is an invitation to connect with what matters to you and expand your capacity to respond creatively to what life offers.
It offers an introduction to psychodrama—an experiential method that uses action and the group to explore situations from different perspectives. By bringing aspects of a situation into action, we can see more clearly what is happening and discover new possibilities for responding.
You might bring something from your personal life that you want to explore, or a professional situation, role or relationship you would like to approach differently. Together, we will explore patterns—how they have formed, how they show up and whether they still serve you.
There is no pressure to fix anything. The emphasis is on curiosity, choice and finding a little more room to move.
This workshop may be a good fit if you:
work with people in community, therapy, education, leadership or creative roles
want space for personal or professional development
feel caught in familiar patterns and want to try something different
are navigating change, complexity or a situation you would like to explore more deeply
are curious about psychodrama and experiential group work.
No previous experience of psychodrama is required.
This is a complete, standalone workshop. It may also be of interest to people considering further training in psychodrama in 2027.

This workshop is led by Cissy Rock, a Sociodramatist and TEP-in-training with Psychodrama Aotearoa New Zealand.
Cissy is a community development practitioner with a particular interest in making the invisible visible. She has more than 20 years’ experience working with groups across central government, local government and community organisations. She is especially interested in participation and culture—and enjoys nothing more than great coffee accompanied by something sweet.
